CST at Stand A556Queensland Mining Expo, 2022
CST has been in the industry for nearly 40 years, and services all brands of belt weighers. Over the years, our technicians have found time and time again - it doesn’t matter how good the belt weigher is - if the maintenance has been poor the whole system is compromised. That leaves the customer not only frustrated, but with a lot of investment into a weighing system that is not working for them! It would be the same scenario if you purchased a Ferrari and had it serviced at ‘Backyard Car Repairs’. But what about RCS?
Ian Burrell (CST’s Managing Director) is known for saying, “Bad service will make weighers worse”. CST takes belt weigher maintenance extremely seriously.
Why is CST maintenance so good? Behind every CST technician is a support network of dedicated research and development experts, experienced engineers, innovative products and a committed staff.
Identifying faults and or potential faults is a key to proper belt weighing maintenance. CST’s unique and innovative solution includes the WIM3 Calibration Dashboard - part of the MaVIS Electronics Processing Unit. This can be fitted to any brand of belt weigher, and allows an accurate visual analysis and traffic lighted warning system - the only one of its kind in the world. The system allows the owner and the CST support team to quickly see the status of a belt weigher, and identify faults or areas that need attention.
Accuracy is important on all fronts. The research and development team at CST provide important skills and support for the technicians. Based on research by CST’s Managing Director Ian Burrell, another world first breakthrough in Accuracy has been achieved, tested, and proven to provide +/- 0.1 % accuracy. This was first verified at Impala, Peru, where the world’s largest belt weigher was installed by CST - the PFS4-OD-CSRR.
The most accurate belt weigher invented.
CST is noted in the industry for having a number of world-first innovations. The revolutionary IntelliRoll - an autonomous sensor fusion built into a conveyor roll - is the first of its kind. It has many uses and applications, and has become extremely popular for Process Engineers. The ability to sense mass and in particular because it can do so without taking up much space (or requiring extensive construction to set up) is a breakthrough. Fitting an idler to an existing conveyor belt is far easier than the extensive process and design of fitting a full SIP belt weighing system. In certain situations (such as some sites where belts have travelled through tunnels) the IntelliRoll has become the only feasible cost effective solution. No wonder it picked up the QME BEST PRODUCT LAUNCH award (2018), and the Best of Sensors award at the Sensors & Expo Conference in the USA (2019) where it was acclaimed as an innovative product with cutting edge advancements and achievements.
So what is RCS? CST has brought RCS (Remote Care Service) to the belt weighing maintenance world. This unique feature allows information on site to be instantaneously relayed to a team of experts at home base in Sydney - no matter where in the world the belt weigher may be. This has saved massive amounts on maintenance costs by avoiding technician call-out costs for minor adjustments, and also by being able to observe aberrant behaviour before the effect is detrimental to the system. Avoiding unscheduled downtime is a major advantage and a high priority for CST.
CST believes service is everything when it comes to belt weighers, no matter what brand of belt weigher you have. This Australian company has the support, experience, expertise and innovation to make sure your belt weighing system not only operates properly, but stays that way.
Why not catch up with Alastair Boyd (Business Development Engineer) or Joel Bearman (Head of Mackay Office) at STAND A556 at the Queensland Mining Expo, and ask how we can help you improve your weighing system service.
