Our Team
Dr Leonard lan Burrell
Founder & Joint Managing Director
Ian is a Mechanical Engineer with an in depth knowledge of electronics and over 40 years of experience in instrumentation and belt weighing. He has designed several belt weighing products, including the range CST manufactures, and wrote the software for CST’s belt weigher controller. Ian continues as Managing Director leading CST’s steady growth into world prominence as a leading manufacturer of belt weighing equipment.
Nicholas Bamford
Joint Managing Director
Nick brings extensive experience in engineering, project management and strategic leadership. Combining his technical expertise with strengths in strategy, operational transformation, M&A and product development, Nick has successfully led multiple companies, driving growth and innovation. He holds a Master of Engineering from the University of Oxford and an MBA from The University of Queensland, offering a global perspective to his leadership of international projects and operations. In his spare time, Nick enjoys running ultramarathons.
Lynette Armstrong
Chief Financial Officer
Lynette is a highly accomplished Senior Mining & Finance Executive with over 24 years of financial and business experience within the Botswana Exploration and Mining Industry. Lynette is a chartered accountant by profession and has completed several strategic leadership development programmes globally. Lynette has solid board governance experience, having served as Chairperson of Botswana Accountancy Oversight Authority, as well as on the board for the Debswana Mining Company, Morupule Coal Mining Company and other companies in Botswana. Now in Australia, Lynette has joined Control Systems Technology as their Chief Financial Officer at the perfect time as the company looks to expand globally.
Brian Kefford
Operations Manager
Brian is an electronics/instrument technician who joined CST in 1995 and has been Operations Manager since 2000. He has been utilised as a project engineer, planner and design verifier, whilst managing design engineers, production staff and administration staff for the supply of belt weighing systems and spares. He liaises and negotiates with clients to ensure the client receives equipment that meets both the site requirements and CST’s high standard of quality.
Lauren Burrell
Executive Director
Lauren is an Executive Director at CST and Production Manager for the IntelliRoll® range. With more than ten years at CST, she has worked across multiple areas of the business, building deep expertise in products, processes and operational standards. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys hands-on creative pursuits including silversmithing.
