The way CST operates
Since inception, CST has challenged the conventional marketplace 'wisdom' regarding in-motion weighing accuracy, and worked on addressing the main reasons for the lack of trust in in-motion weigher reliability and accuracy.
CST's perspective is that "Different Belt Scales are required for Different Conveyors, to achieve the Same Accuracy". |
| |
| By this we mean that belt scales will need a different Weigh frame design with a different number of supported idler sets and with different load cells on each different conveyor, to achieve the same standard of accuracy. Because all conveyors are different, the belt tensions are different, so they, need a different weigh frame, designed to suit. CST does not subscribe to the notion that 4 idlers gives 0.25% accuracy or that 2 idlers give 0.5% accuracy. At CST we believe it is necessary to design each belt weigher for the tension environment that it is intended to operate in, as belt tension is the key factor affecting belt weigher accuracy. As well, there are other factors impacting accuracy which can be easily eliminated, if our application engineering approach is followed. (Sources of BW error).
CST specifically designs in-motion weighing equipment to achieve the required measurement accuracy by:
CST has combined professional expertise in weighing technology and application engineering to produce designs that are applicable to the specific site, proving that accurate weighing is possible even in extreme conditions. CST has shown the value of this approach in very high accuracy applications such as ship loading and other point of sale uses.
In contrast, the practice of other belt weigher manufacturers is to manufacture and supply from stock standard built weighers, the accuracy of which has been designed to suit some some theoretical standard application. It is not a big stretch of the imagination to conjecture that the general market mistrust of accuracy claims for in motion weighers comes from just this generic, 'one size fits all' approach. We think it is very important that customers know which kind of manufacturer they are talking to. (Choosing the right BW supplier)
The end result of this application engineered rather than price-oriented approach is that : Our Belt Weighers are better – more durable, more robust, more reliable, more accurate, more fully supported for their service life, and customised for your application.
